About Kunststoffverarbeitung Bauer
Kunststoffverarbeitung Bauer GmbH in Königstein near Dresden manufactures technical plastic parts from thermoplastics and thermosets. On more than 33 injection molding machines (350–2500 kN), parts with weights from 0.02 g to 600 g are produced; in the thermoset sector, parts from 0.03 to 800 g are manufactured on 5 presses (600–1500 kN) and 7 injection molding machines (350–1800 kN). The value chain includes project planning and development, in-house toolmaking, injection molding, hybrid components through overmolding of metal, textile and electronic components, CNC machining, ultrasonic welding, pad printing, vacuum metallization, painting and module assembly. Lot sizes range from 50 pieces up to long-running products with up to 7 million parts per year in 3-shift operation. Customers come from industries such as mechanical engineering, power tools, medical technology, optics, automotive and fluid technology, including Bosch, Eppendorf, Siemens Healthineers, ABB and Rockwell Automation.

Materials and Processes
Engineering thermoplastics (reinforced/unreinforced)
Processing of all engineering thermoplastics into injection molded parts from 0.02 to 600 g.
PEEK (polyetheretherketone)
High-temperature-resistant high-performance plastic with chemical resistance and sliding properties.
PPS (polyphenylene sulfide)
Very high chemical and heat deflection resistance, mostly as a compound with fillers.
PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride)
Fluoropolymer with good thermal and chemical resistance, e.g. for pipe linings.
PSU (polyarylsulfones)
For service temperatures from −100 to 200 °C, high strength and chemical resistance.
PBT (polybutylene terephthalate)
Very good dimensional stability, low creep deformation and high abrasion resistance.
PF (phenolics)
Thermoset for e.g. plastic housings in electrical applications, economical molding compound.
EP (epoxy resin)
Thermoset with continuous service temperature up to 250 °C, good insulation and chemical resistance.
BMC (bulk molding compounds)
Thermoset with tooling-level dimensional accuracy and high temperature resistance, an alternative to aluminum die casting.
TPE (thermoplastic elastomers)
Among other things for overmolded stainless steel mesh as dust filters in power tools.
PA6 GF35
Glass-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic for mechanically stressed components such as bearing flanges.
Hybrid components (overmolding)
Overmolding of mesh fabrics, stamped, turned and milled parts as well as electronic components.
