KWE Klein & Wilhelm Engineering GmbH is an owner-managed company founded in 1977 and based in Bottrop-Kirchhellen, specialising in the repair, new manufacture and optimisation of industrial gear units. For industrial customers worldwide, KWE manufactures, overhauls and repairs stationary gear units for all industries in the weight range from 100 kg to 48 tonnes (repair) or up to 40 tonnes (new manufacture). The service portfolio covers full service from disassembly to assembly, on-site assembly and repair, spare parts manufacturing, technical consulting and design using 3D CAD. In emergencies the company is available 24 hours a day and provides rapid assistance in the event of plant failures. At the Bottrop-Kirchhellen site, around 90 employees manufacture using a continuously expanded machine park consisting of five production halls and one warehouse hall. The company is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and supplies industries ranging from the coal and steel industry to general mechanical engineering and plant operation.

History

Foundation of KWE by Mr Klein and Mr Wilhelm in downtown Bottrop with 10 employees; manufacturing and repair of gear units for the coal and steel industry.
- 1978
Relocation from downtown Bottrop to Bottrop-Kirchhellen; new construction of the buildings.
Expansion by a total of five production halls and one warehouse hall at intervals of approximately six years.
