About kymo
kymo GmbH was founded in 2005 in Karlsruhe and produces contemporary designer rugs under its own product category Floorwear®. Production is carried out by hand in Germany; the portfolio includes high-pile rugs (THE SHAGS), outdoor rugs (THE OUTDOORS), fabric rugs (THE FABRICS), minimalist loft collections as well as THE MASHUP editions with patchwork variants. Materials used include viscose (Dune Max Viscose); the designs are created in collaboration with external designers such as Kensau Oshiro, Sonja Schaub and Katharina Tannous. From 2007 onwards, brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Escada and Nespresso furnished their boutiques with tailored kymo rugs; in 2017 followed the complete outfitting of the Temptation design hotel in Cancun. With the project business service THE ATELIER, kymo manages individual projects in design hotels, brand boutiques and in the interior architecture sector. A worldwide dealer network with distribution centers in Europe, the USA and Asia complements sales; the headquarters with showroom are located in Karlsruhe.
