About LaMa Recycling
LaMa Recycling GmbH was founded in Würzburg in 2025 and specializes in the recovery of complex composite materials and problematic production waste that cannot be recycled, or only to a limited extent, using standard recycling processes. The approach begins with the analysis of the specific material stream: which components are contained, how are they bonded, and which fractions can be sensibly recovered? Building on this, the company develops a suitable separation and processing logic to make valuable material fractions such as plastics, superabsorbents, cellulose, fibers and films industrially usable again. A practical example is the hygiene industry, such as diaper production, where plastics, fibers, cellulose and superabsorbents come together in hard-to-separate waste composites. The PhD-holding founding team led by Dr. Marieluise Lang and Dr. Lars Helmlinger brings many years of expertise in polymer chemistry and plastics engineering; the company was founded under the EXIST funding program (ESF Plus, BMWK) in the vicinity of SKZ Würzburg. In addition, the company offers consulting on the industrial usability of processed material streams and on compound development from recyclates.

Material Streams and Processes
Plastics
Recovery of plastic fractions from complex production waste and composite materials.
Superabsorbents
Hard-to-separate components from hygiene waste, the starting point of the technical development.
Cellulose
Fraction from composite material streams of the hygiene industry.
Fibers
Fiber-containing components in production waste, differentiated assessment instead of total fraction.
Films
Film components in material composites, part of the processing logic.
Composite materials
Hard-to-separate material composites as the core application area of the separation logic.
Recyclates / Compound Development
Further development of processed fractions into industrially usable compounds.
