About Laminar Aerotec
Laminar Aerotec GmbH, based in Muthmannsdorf (Lower Austria), develops and manufactures components and accessories for gliders, in particular the original BWS bug wipers by Pirker & Storka. The product range includes the patented BWS flexi wiper with a flexible joint system that adapts to the airfoil of every common wing, as well as electric winches, hand cranks, pulley blocks, mounting sledges and accessories such as retrieval lines made of Dyneema. The wiper blades are made from high-strength, UV-resistant fibre-reinforced plastics; housings and rollers are made of anodized aluminium. All products are manufactured entirely in the EU. In addition to development, calculation and aerodynamic design of components, the company offers assembly and installation kits, installation instructions, retrofit solutions for almost all common glider types, and servicing of existing systems. The systems are used in air sports, including competition gliding, and the company is offered as a partner for research and development projects.
