About the State Office for Digitalisation, Broadband and Surveying
The State Office for Digitalisation, Broadband and Surveying (LDBV) is a middle-level authority within the portfolio of the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs, headquartered in Munich. It is the central point of contact for official surveying in Bavaria: it carries out the topographic national survey, operates the BayernAtlas portal, provides geodata via GeodatenOnline and OpenData, and is responsible for the Bavarian Aerial Photography Centre. Subordinate to the authority are 51 Offices for Digitalisation, Broadband and Surveying (ÄDBV) with 22 branch offices, which maintain and update the real estate cadastre with over 10 million parcels on a daily basis and carry out around 30,000 property surveys per year. In addition, the LDBV operates the IT Service Centre of the Free State of Bavaria (IT-DLZ) for e-government applications and IT infrastructures, as well as the Broadband Centre Amberg and the BayernWLAN Centre Straubing to support fibre-optic and WLAN expansion. At its Munich headquarters, the LDBV also runs a printing and media centre for public authorities with prepress, digital and offset printing as well as finishing.
