About the Landesjagdverband NRW
The Landesjagdverband Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V. (LJV NRW), based in Dortmund, is the umbrella organization of hunters in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a registered non-profit association, it represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis politics, authorities and the public, and promotes hunting in all its facets as well as nature conservation, animal welfare and environmental education. Its organizational basis consists of around 460 hunting districts (Hegeringe) and 52 district hunting associations, in which more than 4,500 hunters take on tasks on committees and as officers on a voluntary basis. The range of services includes a training and continuing education program on topics such as game meat hygiene, hunting dogs and shooting affairs, the organization of shooting competitions under the DJV shooting rules, hunting dog testing and bloodtracking dog affairs, as well as nature conservation and public relations work including youth programs through the initiatives Lernort Natur and Junge Jäger. The association is the ideal sponsor of the Dortmund hunting fair JAGD & HUND and supports the game meat marketing platform Waldfleisch. With its game truck "Wildi", the LJV brings the topic of hunting to local communities as a mobile platform. The state head office is located at Gabelsbergerstraße 2 in Dortmund.
