Fuel refining under the REKORD brand
Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG (LEAG), as part of the LEAG Group, is active in the field of fuel refining and markets its products under the REKORD brand. At the Schwarze Pumpe site (Spremberg), the company has been producing lignite briquettes since 1959. In addition, its subsidiary LEAG Pellets GmbH operates four of its own pellet plants in Wismar, Schwedt/Oder, Oranienbaum-Wörlitz and Löbau, where wood pellets are produced from regional residual materials from sawmills and timber harvesting; no tree is felled specifically for pellet production. The company owns its own forest of 7,500 hectares and refines a total of around 2.1 million tonnes of solid fuels per year. The fuels are supplied to private households, municipalities and heat-intensive industries. The product range includes the REKORD brand for lignite briquettes, introduced in 1961, as well as CO2-neutral burning wood pellets made from 100 percent in-house production in Germany.
