About Layher

Layher is a company founded in 1945, 100 percent family-owned, and a manufacturer of system scaffolds, protection and event systems as well as ladders and access technology. The product range includes the SpeedyScaf frame scaffold, the Allround Scaffolding modular scaffold with boltless wedge-head connection, shoring systems, protective roofs and facade cladding, as well as event systems for stages and grandstands. Production takes place in Germany from steel – including high-strength steel grades for weight optimisation – from aluminium and from wood in highly automated manufacturing with stringent quality management. The products are aimed at customers from scaffolding, trades, construction, industry and the events sector; the company itself does not carry out scaffolding work, but acts exclusively as a manufacturer and supplier. Layher GmbH, headquartered in Buochs, serves the Swiss market, with a distribution warehouse and administration in Emmen; the holding operates subsidiaries in around 40 countries.

Materials and Processes

Stahl

Steel (high-strength grades)

Base material of the Allround and SpeedyScaf system scaffolds; higher steel grades enable lower component weight with unchanged load-bearing capacity.

Al

Aluminium

Used for facade scaffolds of the SpeedyScaf series as well as ladders and access technology with reduced handling weight.

Holz

Wood

Material for wooden components and wooden ladders, manufactured at the Güglingen plant.
