About LeadMe
LeadMe is an Austrian start-up based in Vienna that develops visual aids for blind and visually impaired people. The product is an ordinary-looking pair of glasses with sensors that give the wearer haptic feedback, thus alerting them to obstacles that cannot be detected with a white cane – such as temporary traffic signs, truck loading ramps or trees, i.e. objects that are not firmly connected to the ground. The products are developed together with visually impaired people in order to tailor them specifically to their needs. The result is affordable, user-friendly glasses with an inconspicuous appearance. The goal is to make everyday life and participation easier for visually impaired people in public spaces. Management and development are led by Tobias Holzinger (CEO) and Thomas Scheu (CTO); communication is in English.
