About LEAG Pellets GmbH
LEAG Pellets GmbH, headquartered in Cottbus, is part of Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG (LEAG) and produces wood pellets under the REKORD brand in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17225-2 (ENplus A1/A2/B, 6 and 8 mm) as well as animal bedding and bedding shavings made from untreated softwood. The company processes sawmill by-products such as sawdust, wood shavings and wood chips as well as damaged, low-grade and crooked timber, which are pelletized in die presses without chemical binders using the natural binder lignin. Drying is carried out using heat from the company's own biomass heating plants in Löbau and Oranienbaum or with residual steam from a neighboring industrial process in Schwedt. In addition, Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG produces fireplace briquettes from Lusatian lignite in Schwarze Pumpe (REKORD brand, since 1961). The group operates four German pellet plants (Wismar, Schwedt/Oder, Oranienbaum-Wörlitz, Löbau) and six plants in Scandinavia (Scandbio), supplying private households, commercial customers, municipalities, heating networks and heat-intensive industrial companies. Capacity in the fuels business is 2.1 million tonnes of upgraded solid fuels per year.
