About LEAG Pellets GmbH
LEAG Pellets GmbH, headquartered in Cottbus, is a manufacturer and supplier of wood pellets and upgraded solid fuels under the REKORD product brand. The company operates four of its own pellet plants in Germany (Wismar, Schwedt/Oder, Oranienbaum-Wörlitz and Löbau) as well as an upgrading facility of Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG in Schwarze Pumpe for briquette production from Lusatian lignite. Wood pellets are produced from untreated residues from sawmills and timber harvesting – sawdust, wood shavings and wood chips from softwood and hardwood – in die presses without chemical binders in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17225-2. In Löbau and Oranienbaum, own biomass heating plants and a biomass combined heat and power plant supply the production with drying heat. The company upgrades a total of around 2.1 million tonnes of solid fuels per year and supplies private households, municipalities, commerce, heating networks and heat-intensive industrial companies. Since 2024, the Scandinavian company Scandbio with six plants has also been part of the group.
