About LEAM Technologies
LEAM Technologies GmbH is a German company offering local thermal control for large-format extrusion 3D printing. The core product is the retrofit system DEMEX: an end-effector ring with sensor technology, local LED heating and cooling that is mounted around the extruder of existing extrusion AM platforms. Via a control cabinet and HMI package, DEMEX delivers real-time measurements of melt, surface, bulk and interface temperature and controls the deposition area in a targeted manner, thereby improving layer adhesion. Published studies demonstrate significant increases in Z-direction strength for LMPAEK (unreinforced +457 %, reinforced +70 % Z-UTS) and PA6-CF. Target industries are marine, oil & gas as well as mold and tool making. The company has been supported by funding and incubation programs such as ESA BIC Bavaria, EXIST, TUM Venture Labs Additive Manufacturing, XPRENEURS, Dassault Systèmes and the Ansys Startup Program and received the Founders' Prize for Digital Innovations in 2023.
