About Ancon

Ancon is a product brand of Leviat Limited, which develops, manufactures and sells high-quality steel fixings for the construction and civil engineering sector. The product range includes masonry support and restraint systems, anchors and restraint fixings, lintels, windposts, reinforcing bar coupler systems, shear load connectors, dowel systems, tension and compression tie systems, insulated balcony connectors as well as custom stainless steel fabrications to drawing. Manufacturing is predominantly in stainless steel (austenitic 1.4301/1.4401, Duplex 1.4462, Super Duplex and ferritic grades), supplemented by galvanised steel and basalt fibre composite (Wall Ties Teplo). Processes include cold forming, welding, machining and thread rolling of reinforcing bars for tapered thread couplers, for which Leviat also offers its own machines (ABP-TT40RH, CG200). The products are used in educational, office and residential buildings, industrial buildings, bridges, tunnels, sports venues and water treatment plants, including projects such as Tate Modern Switch House and the London School of Economics. UK locations are Sheffield (head office with production), Deeside (production), Brentford (sales/specification) and Houghton Regis (warehouse/sales). Worldwide, Leviat distributes its products through a network of distributors and supports customers with technical advice, a BIM library and design software.

Materials & Processes

1.4301

Austenitic stainless steel 1.4301 (304)

Standard material for wall ties, masonry support and restraint systems with good corrosion resistance.

1.4401

Austenitic stainless steel 1.4401 (316)

For higher corrosion requirements in exterior construction and aggressive environments.

1.4462

Duplex stainless steel 1.4462

Higher strength and corrosion resistance for highly stressed fixings.

SDX

Super Duplex stainless steel

For extremely corrosive environments such as water infrastructure.

FER

Ferritic stainless steel

Cost-effective alternative for applications with lower requirements.

STGZ

Galvanised steel

Used for screws and balcony connectors such as Ancon ACC and STC/STS.

BFB

Basalt fibre composite (Ancon Teplo)

Low thermal bridging material for low-conductivity wall ties.

Quality

The BS EN ISO 9001 quality management system has been the framework for all systems and processes since 1991, from purchasing through incoming material inspection to manufacturing, with six-monthly BSI audits. In addition, an environmental management system (ISO 14001) and an occupational health and safety management system (ISO 45001) are certified.
