Licel, Lidar Computing and Electronics GmbH was founded in 1994 by Dr. Bernhard Stein and Bernd Mielke and has been based in Berlin since 1996. The company develops and produces electronics and optical detectors for lidar systems and tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS). The product portfolio includes transient recorders, a 32-channel photon counter, photomultiplier modules, Si/InGaAs avalanche photodiodes, and other lidar components such as the Lidarino detection system suitable for near-range applications. In addition, as a National Instruments Alliance Partner since 1996, Licel has been implementing industrial hardware and software projects — in particular custom LabVIEW software. The products are distributed via international sales partners in, among other countries, Japan, China, India, the United Kingdom, the USA, France and Greece. Alongside its standard product range, the company offers tailor-made solutions for scientific instrumentation and metrology.
