The Company
Lichtner Beton is a family-owned company in the ready-mixed concrete industry based at Berlin's South Harbour. Kurt Lichtner founded a precast concrete and concrete products plant in Berlin in the late 1940s; in 1955 he built the first ready-mixed concrete plant there as one of the pioneers of the industry. Today the group comprises nine fresh concrete plants in Brandenburg (Wittstock, Pritzwalk, Alt Ruppin, Brandenburg/Havel, Schwedt, Frankfurt/Oder, Strausberg), in Salzwedel (Saxony-Anhalt) and Lüchow (Lower Saxony). The delivery programme covers ready-mixed concrete to DIN 1045-2:2023-08 in strength classes C8/10 to C30/37 with maximum aggregate size 8/16/32 mm, cement-bound building materials and factory-mixed screed. The offering is complemented by concrete placement with truck-mounted concrete pumps, building materials transport, aggregates (gravel), recycling and a laboratory for fresh and hardened concrete testing. In its third generation, Katharina Lichtner leads the company, which also operates concrete and gravel plants in Poland and Ukraine.
