About LIMBUA
LIMBUA is a German-Kenyan organic producer and exporter of macadamia nuts, avocado oil and dried mangoes. The raw material comes from more than 9,000 organic-certified contracted smallholder farmers at the foot of Mount Kenya and is purchased directly without intermediaries. Processing takes place at four in-house production sites in the rural region (Githure, Githungururu, Kianyaga, Ena) as well as at an organic-certified nursery in Embu. The product range includes premium and ingredient qualities raw or roasted, macadamia butter, virgin and refined macadamia oil, cold-pressed avocado oil and air-dried mango – in bulk from cartons via pallets to container quantities. All core processes such as drying, cracking with in-house developed nut crackers, manual sorting, infrared roasting and pasteurization, coating, milling, oil pressing and filling are fully handled in-house. Over 900 employees work at the local production facilities; warehouse locations in Kenya, Europe (Rotterdam) and the USA (including Borken) enable worldwide delivery with seamless digital traceability (BIOFANS). Customers include wholesalers, the food, bakery and confectionery industries as well as the cosmetics sector.

Quality & Certifications
Quality is ensured by an in-house, fully digitalized quality management system: raw material recording, storage, logistics and certification are fully traceable via the BIOFANS software (CSR Award 2025). Continuous internal quality inspections and documented release processes take place during processing, supplemented by regular external audits (among others IFS Food Higher Level, BRCGS Grade AA).
