Limbus Medical Technologies GmbH was founded in 2015 in Rostock and is a medical device manufacturer and software development company. The cloud-based software product varvis® is a complete solution for clinical diagnostics, combining NGS data processing, genomics data management and variant interpretation in one platform. The software supports short-read and long-read sequencing and covers applications from targeted panels to whole-genome sequencing, including automated analysis of SNVs, CNVs, STRs and SVs. An automated bioinformatics pipeline processes raw data from bcl, fastq or bam files, including alignment and variant calling; the allexes® reference database provides the data for variant annotation. AION, an AI-supported variant prioritization, is integrated into the workflow. As the first end-to-end genomics software, it is certified as a Class C medical device under the IVDR and is used in human genetics laboratories, university hospitals and oncological diagnostic centers.
