About LIMNA
LIMNA Ökologie & Landschaft is an independent planning and expert consultancy office established in 1996 with a broad range of services in landscape planning and landscape ecology. Its main focus lies on limnological and fish-ecological investigations, including fish stock surveys using electro, net and trap fishing, functional testing of fish pass and fish downstream passage facilities, as well as hydromorphological surveys using echo sounding. The office collects ecological baseline data, assesses the environmental compatibility of projects and develops compensation measures for interventions in the natural environment. Further fields include FFH (Habitats Directive) and species protection specialist reports, WFD (Water Framework Directive) monitoring, mapping of various fauna groups and ecological construction supervision. As a publicly appointed and sworn expert (appointed by the Chamber of Agriculture of Lower Saxony), LIMNA also prepares expert opinions, evidence documentation and arbitration reports. Projects have been implemented in several German federal states such as Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Brandenburg, Hesse and Lower Saxony, among others for PlanB, EGL, Fugro Consult and K+S Kali GmbH.
