About Lions Air Group
Lions Air Group AG is a Swiss holding company headquartered in Wollerau in the canton of Schwyz whose subsidiaries are active primarily in aviation. In 1987, then-Rega pilot Jürg Fleischmann founded Lions Air AG, from which the present corporate group emerged in 2008 through the merger of several existing companies. Its fields of business include air rescue and patient transport, organ transports for Swisstransplant, VIP business and event special flights, passenger transport with airplanes and helicopters, aerial firefighting, and film and multimedia production with wireless video relay solutions. The group employs around 300 people worldwide, of whom about 110 work at the subsidiary AAA Alpine Air Ambulance, which operates bases in Balzers and Birrfeld and is integrated into public rescue networks in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria and Germany. The fleet comprises airplanes (Dassault Falcon 8X, Bombardier Global 7500, Challenger 604), helicopters (including Bell 429, Airbus H135, AS332 Super Puma, AW139, H160) as well as fifteen ambulances and rescue vehicles and two emergency physician response vehicles.
