Phosphors and inorganic specialty materials from Greifswald
Litec-LLL GmbH develops and produces phosphors and inorganic specialty materials at its Greifswald site. The portfolio comprises the product families isiphor (LED phosphors for spectral conversion from blue to deep red), isishield (luminescent taggants for security marking, anti-counterfeiting and traceability) and isigrow (rare-earth-free, luminescent inorganic pigments for greenhouse films and agri-PV modules). The entire value chain takes place under one roof: solid-state and wet-chemical synthesis, doping, ALD coating of powders, milling and classification, filling, labeling and testing. Contract manufacturing covers dedicated batches and OEM supply from a few kilograms to single-digit tonnes per year (approx. 10 t/a synthesis and 3 t/a ALD capacity). The company also takes over production of discontinued specialties as a second source or sole supplier. Customers come from the LED and specialty chemicals industry, security technology as well as horticulture and agri-PV in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. Since the management buy-out in 2020, the company has been owner-managed with around 20 employees.
