About LKAB Minerals
LKAB Minerals is an international supplier of industrial minerals headquartered in Luleå, Sweden, and part of the LKAB Group, which mines around 80 % of the iron ore extracted in the EU. The company supplies more than 30 raw and processed minerals for over 60 applications, including the high-density MagnaDense aggregate made from natural magnetite for high-density concrete (up to 4.0 t/m³), radiation shielding and offshore ballast, the fine magnetite powder MagniF for polymers and coatings, the flowing screed brand Gypsol, the halogen-free flame retardant UltraCarb, phlogopite mica MicaFort, and thermal minerals such as bentonite, olivine and MinSand for foundries and the refractory sector. Further products include mineral fillers (ATH, chalk, Marmori, talc), GGBS cement replacement, fertilizers (Calcifert) and specialty metals such as tungsten, molybdenum and zircon. Customers come from construction, infrastructure, offshore/marine, energy, the polymer and coatings industries, agriculture and foundry. Around 45 % of revenue is generated from secondary and recycled products; the company employs approximately 450 people in 12 countries.
