About Lloyd Dynamowerke

Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH (LDW), based in the Bremen district of Hemelingen, locality of Hastedt, is a manufacturer of large electrical machines. The product range includes three-phase asynchronous motors with outputs of approximately 1,000 to 35,000 kW, synchronous motors from 4,000 to 50,000 kW, synchronous generators from 4,000 to 60,000 kVA, compact asynchronous motors from 150 to approx. 2,500 kW, and DC motors and generators from 10 to 8,000 kW; compact and DC machines are also manufactured as turbomachines up to 9,000 and 10,000 rpm respectively. The machines are not produced in series but individually for ship propulsion, industrial drive technology and power generation (e.g. hydropower), particularly for applications in mining and the chemical industry. The value chain covers development, winding, assembly and testing up to 200 tonnes of machine weight, as well as repairs, diagnostics and spare parts manufacturing – including the reproduction of replacement machines for AEG large machines whose documentation is held by LDW. Delivery and support are provided through a worldwide sales and service network.
