About LMC Caravan
LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG, based in Sassenberg (North Rhine-Westphalia), is a German manufacturer of caravans, motorhomes and camper vans for the European market. The company belongs to the Erwin Hymer Group and, since 2019, to Thor Industries. Manufacturing in Sassenberg comprises series assembly of recreational vehicles, complemented by cutting using a waterjet cutting system, modern roof assembly lines, and a customer service center for repairs, retrofitting and warranty work as a service partner of the Erwin Hymer Group. Fiat Ducato and Ford Transit chassis are used for the camper van models; an in-house developed lightweight construction concept targets higher payload and efficiency. The company's roots date back to 1950; series production began in 1955. In 2018, a new production plant was commissioned, doubling manufacturing capacity. LMC also manufactures for other brands of the Erwin Hymer Group.
