About LOCI Design

LOCI Design KG develops and manufactures the construction kit LOCI, with which children aged 3 and up can build life-size play worlds such as kitchens, caves, theatres or stools themselves and without tools. The kit consists of 11 frames made of untreated European beech wood, 24 tool-free connectors made of food-grade polyamide, and a stackable storage system that also serves as a stool. Frames and connectors are manufactured in Vienna, while the company headquarters are located in Wienerbruck in Lower Austria. The company, active in the Design / Industrial Design trade, follows the principles of the circular economy: the untreated and unvarnished wood is repairable, individual frames are replaced under a 10-year replacement right, and the packaging is recyclable. In addition, the extensions LOCI Interact (motifs and board games) and LOCI Learn (learning panels made of beech plywood) are in development. Target groups are kindergartens, day nurseries, primary schools and after-school care centres in Austria; in 2026 LOCI was awarded the German Innovation Award in Gold.
