About Lohmann & Sohn
Lohmann & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG is a rope factory based in Hamburg-Hausbruch and has been producing twisted ropes from natural and synthetic fibers since 1752. The product range covers hemp, flax, sisal, jute, manila, coconut as well as polypropylene (Polyhanf/Spleitex, PP-Splitfilm, PP-Multifil) and polyamide (Perlon/Nylon). The ropes are produced in 3-, 4- and 6-strand versions or in cable-laid construction; in addition, tarred rope goods such as tarred hemp cord, tarred spun-fiber cord, Schiemannsgarn, Hüsing and Marleine are part of the core business. Production takes place on a modern machine fleet as well as traditionally on the approximately 300-meter-long Reeperbahn (rope walk) at the Hamburg-Hausbruch plant. Fields of application include sports and fitness, pet supplies, decoration and construction, theater and stage, shipping as well as playground and toy construction; custom-made products are also offered. Sales are directed exclusively to retailers, resellers and commercial customers. For raw materials such as manila yarn, jute yarn, sisal yarn and flax yarn, production is subject to continuous quality controls.
