About Lohse Ringbandkerne GmbH
Lohse Ringbandkerne GmbH in Muggensturm (Baden-Württemberg) manufactures strip-wound toroidal cores for use in transformers and chokes, including for solar inverters as well as medium- and high-voltage applications. The product portfolio also includes air-gap cores, slit strip cores, stepped cores, injection-molded parts and coatings. The core process is strip-wound toroidal core winding; toroidal cores for high voltage are produced with diameters up to 1700 mm. In addition, the company manufactures plastic accessory parts such as protective caps, troughs and potting cups by injection molding as well as stamped parts such as anchor and mounting brackets. Founded in 1982 by Horst Lohse, the company generated revenue of EUR 11 million in 2009 with 27 employees and has belonged to Phoenix Mecano AG since 2010.

History
- 1982
Following the insolvency of Elektroapparatebau Hundsbach, Horst Lohse founds Lohse GmbH in Muggensturm by taking over the Walter Hagen company; core competencies: strip-wound toroidal core winding for medium voltage as well as stamping of anchor and mounting brackets.
- 1987
Investment in another production line; production of strip-wound toroidal cores for high voltage with diameters up to 1700 mm as well as manufacture of air-gap and slit strip cores.
- 1990
Acquisition of the machine park of Ziko Kunststoffspritzerei GmbH; expansion to include plastic accessory parts (protective caps, troughs, potting cups etc.).
- 1994
Oliver Lohse joins the company to secure business succession.
- 1998
Relocation to a new production facility three times as large.
- 2010
Phoenix Mecano AG acquires all shares of Lohse GmbH effective May 1, 2010.
