LOMA SYSTEMS was founded in 1969 in Farnborough, UK, and develops, manufactures and supports inspection systems for the detection of foreign bodies and product defects in the food, pharmaceutical and packaging industries. The product portfolio includes IQ4 series metal detectors (including IQ4M Multi-Spectrum, IQ4H, IQ4 Pipeline, IQ4 Vertical Fall, IQ4 Waferthin, RUN-WET, IQ4 LOCK-PH Pharmaceutical), X5 series X-ray inspection systems (including X5C, X5 PACK up to 25 kg, X5 Pipeline, X5 BulkFlow, X5DE with dual-energy technology) and CW3 series dynamic checkweighers with capacities from 400 g to 60 kg. Combination systems inspect and weigh conveyed products simultaneously. Designed according to the 'Designed to Survive' principle, the units are built for harsh production environments with protection ratings up to IP69K and are manufactured modularly with short lead times. LOMA is a division of ITW Ltd (ITW Inc.) and has installed more than 130,000 systems in over 100 countries. The DACH region is served by the Dinslaken branch for sales and service; a global service network provides calibration, maintenance, training and spare parts.

Company History
- 1969
Newell Dunford sells its metal detection division; Dennis Pascoe and Geoff Mayo take over the business (Loma Engineering) – starting in Pascoe's garage, then in a 400 sq ft workshop.
- 1972
Move to a new 4,000 sq ft factory in Great Britain.
- 1993
First ISO 9001 certification on 17 March 1993 – as the first company in the industry.
Integration of the LOCK Inspection, Cintex and Brapenta brands into LOMA SYSTEMS.
