About Lotus BioPharma
Lotus BioPharma GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Qingdao Kangyuan Pharmaceutical LTD, which has been active in China for more than 25 years and distributes its products worldwide. The company was founded in 2013 at the Baesweiler site in order to give the parent company better access to the European and US markets. After a planning phase in the Baesweiler business incubator, the company purchased a building on Pascalstraße in the Beggendorf industrial park in 2016. There, Lotus BioPharma GmbH operates a laboratory for process development and quality control; a GMP-compliant production facility for active ingredients of approximately 1000 m² is under construction. Research focuses on the further development of well-known products such as fertility hormones (HMG, FSH, HCG), thrombolytics (streptokinase, urokinase) and ulinastatin. In the long term, the product range is to be expanded to include heparins, protease inhibitors and enzymatic diagnostics.
