Winery and Wine Cellar in Nierstein
Louis Guntrum Weinkellerei GmbH is a winery with wine cellar founded in 1824 in Bensheim and still family-owned today, located in Nierstein (Rheinhessen). The company cultivates renowned vineyard sites on the Nierstein Red Slope and in the Oppenheim slope, including Oelberg, Pettenthal, Hipping, Orbel, Sackträger and Kreuz, on soils of red sandstone, limestone and loam. It produces Riesling and Burgundy wines at all quality levels from entry-level liter wines to Grosses Gewächs, bottle-fermented sparkling wine, and nobly sweet wines such as Beerenauslese and Eiswein. In addition, the house offers dealcoholized wine beverages under the Zero Heroes® range. According to the company, its wines are exported to more than 50 countries. The Nierstein estate comprises the wine cellar, pressing hall, tasting area and an event terrace directly on the Rhine; the business is run by Konstantin Guntrum and Stephanie Steichele-Guntrum in the eleventh generation.
