LUCAS instruments GmbH, based in Jena, was founded in 1990 by engineers from the Carl Zeiss Jena research center and develops and manufactures LED lighting and LED lighting systems under the taghelLED® brand. The product portfolio includes LED retrofit lamps as replacements for conventional HQL/HQI/HPS/NAV lamps, LUCS outdoor luminaires for path, street, harbor and lock lighting, as well as lighting for office, retail, commercial and industrial areas. In addition to manufacturing and distribution, the company develops LED products (hardware, software, mechanics), LED drivers, dimming and control electronics including the Powerline control system LED-Commander, performs lighting design and lighting calculations according to DIN 67500, and manufactures electronic and mechanical device systems as well as industrial measuring, testing and sensor technology.
