About us
For over 70 years, Ludwig Bönnhoff GmbH has been developing and producing customised lifting devices for the transport of goods in the metal-producing and metal-processing industries. The product range extends from manually guided small grippers and slab tongs with load capacities of up to 500 t through to fully automated slab storage systems and plants for annealing, heat treatment shops and forging. Slabs, ingots, coils, rolls, round bars, covers, furnaces and charging racks are lifted and transported – both in operator-controlled operation and in fully automated plants. Manufacturing takes place in the company's own production facility at the Wetter (Ruhr) location, exclusively using ultrasonic-tested plates of Western European origin with material certificates and stamped marking, in a robust design suited to steelworks requirements. The portfolio of services includes consulting, planning and project engineering, design and manufacture from a single source, as well as testing, maintenance and repair of lifting devices in accordance with the applicable safety regulations. Around 18,000 grippers built document the company's many years of engineering experience.
