Ludwig Heinrich Diehl Wahlbacher Sägewerk GmbH is a family-run sawmill and timber specialist store in Burbach-Wahlbach in the Siegerland region, in existence since 1904 and now in its fourth generation. The company processes regional roundwood into construction timber, solid structural timber (KVH), glued laminated timber, squared timber, planks, boards, battens and planed products. The range of services also includes packaging timber, pallets and crates (ISPM 15 registered), decking boards and sawn timber made from larch and Douglas fir, as well as firewood in lengths of 25, 33 and 50 cm and wood chips. Spruce, beech, larch and Douglas fir are processed. The value chain includes roundwood sawing on a high-performance full gangsaw with cross-cut saw, bandsaw contract sawing up to 40 × 40 cm, edging and resawing with laser measurement, technical wood drying in an in-house drying chamber, as well as wood protection, paints and varnishes (Kora range). With computer-aided planning, its own vehicle fleet for short- and long-log transport and just-in-time delivery, the sawmill serves customers from construction, industry/packaging, garden/landscaping and energy sectors with 19 employees. The 750 m long factory site on Gilsbacher Straße brings together the sawmill, timber storage and specialist store.
