About Lufthansa Technik Intercoat
Lufthansa Technik Intercoat is a business unit of the Lufthansa Technik Group specializing in the repair of components damaged by corrosion, erosion, cavitation or mechanical impact. The repair is carried out using the Advanced Epoxy Coating process: the patented, airworthiness-certified material INTERFILL® is applied to the original material with a layer thickness of 0.05 to 0.5 millimeters and then cured. Parts that previously had to be scrapped and replaced thus receive a renewed product life cycle – with performance characteristics that can even exceed the original condition. Various variants of the material differ in terms of application possibilities, surface quality and abrasion resistance. Originally developed as a high-performance material for engine accessory repair in aviation, INTERFILL® is now used throughout the entire aircraft; outside aviation, components from automotive engineering and mechanical engineering are also repaired. The INTERFILL process is also available in automated form.
