Luhmer Maschinenbau GmbH is an owner-managed family business based in Wachtberg-Niederbachem that has been in existence for almost 70 years. Its focal areas are laser cutting and sheet metal processing. On its own laser cutting machine, sheets from 0.5 to 10 mm thickness and panels up to 1500 x 3000 mm are cut; the plasma burner processes sheet metal up to 15 mm thick. Further processes are punching with up to 100 tonnes of press force, bending up to 3000 mm length, as well as MAG and TIG welding. Surface treatment includes grinding to a finish, painting and powder coating. Products include precision parts in small or large quantities, housings and base frames for fixtures, and — for over 30 years — hydraulic tanks in custom designs with a capacity of up to 2000 L. Materials processed include mild steel, stainless steel, bright-rolled mirror-finish sheet, Corten steel, aluminium, copper and brass; an extensive sheet metal stock enables short-notice order processing. Design and production planning are carried out in 3D using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
