About Luitpoldhütte

Luitpoldhütte GmbH is a foundry in Amberg in the Upper Palatinate and the last major heavy-industry company in the region. Founded in 1883, the company produces castings in small and medium series for international customers and specializes in heavy, highly technical and core-intensive castings with a unit weight of up to 1000 kg. Its value chain includes melting operations, technical pattern making, casting, and quality assurance with modern metrology for checking dimensional accuracy and geometry. The castings are used primarily in agricultural machinery, engines, compressors and industrial gearboxes, for example for engine, gearbox and rear axle housings. On a site area of 298,000 m², up to 65,000 tonnes of castings can be produced annually. The castings are infinitely recyclable; the company continuously works on reducing its CO2 emissions.
