About Lunar Resources Registry
Lunar Resources Registry (LRR) is an early-stage company in the field of Space Resources, founded in 2019 by Simon Drake and Kevin Mac Gowan in Frankfurt am Main. The company operates a registration platform and geospatial databases that document human activity on the Moon – landings, rovers, orbiters and potential resource sites. Using remote sensing data, LRR identifies sites with potentially valuable resources such as platinum group metals, critical metals, helium 3, water, and iron and titanium oxides; a machine learning exercise using K-means clustering served as site analysis for iron and titanium. The service offering includes commercial Lunar Resources Registrations (Entry Level with a minimum term of three years), Analytical Add-Ons such as terrain and mission planning, business modelling and Space Resources Legal Frameworks, as well as support with mission planning and payload delivery to the Moon. From 2021 to 2023, LRR was part of the ESA Business Incubation Centre Germany and is an alumnus of ESA BIC Hesse 2023, managed by CESAH. In September 2024, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Thales Alenia Space Space Business Catalyst; LRR is part of the ELLLa consortium for a European lunar lander.

Resources and Analysis Methods
Platinum Group Metals
Target resource of the remote sensing analysis for identifying valuable lunar sites.
Critical Metals
Resource category of site identification for terrestrial high-tech supply chains.
Helium 3
Pursued as a potentially valuable lunar resource in the remote sensing process.
Water (Water Ice)
Key resource of lunar exploration, relevant among other things for ISRU and lunar missions at the south pole.
Iron / Iron Oxide
Analysis target of a machine learning exercise for clustering by resource abundance.
Titanium / Titanium Oxide
Together with iron, the target of the K-means cluster analysis for site determination.
Lunar Regolith
Focus of planned proprietary lander missions for sampling (Regolith Sampling).
