Luthy Machines SA is a third-generation family business founded in 1916 by Edmond Luthy, based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the heart of the Swiss microtechnology region. The company specialises in the purchase and sale, import and export of machine tools – new, overhauled and used machines, predominantly of Swiss manufacture. Around 1500 machines are available on a 5000 m² exhibition area. The core business is the overhaul of conventional machine tools: in its own workshops, experienced mechanics and fitters carry out disassembly, mechanical and electrical overhaul, retrofit and modernisation to customer requirements, including pneumatic and hydraulic wiring, assembly, commissioning at the customer's site and after-sales service. Customers include the watch industry, microtechnology, precision mechanics and aerospace; around 65% of sales are in Switzerland, with the remainder mainly in Asia and Europe. Luthy Machines is also the official and exclusive agent for EMG presses (France) and SANDMASTER sandblasting machines.
