About the Practice
LUZ Landschaftsarchitekten is a design practice in Munich, founded in 1991 by Heiner Luz and run as a sole proprietorship. The core areas of activity are detailed design of open spaces (§ 39 HOAI), traffic facilities planning (§ 45 HOAI) and landscape planning services under § 24, 26 and 27 HOAI, including green space structure planning, planning under nature conservation impact mitigation law, and maintenance and development concepts. The practice handles public and private construction projects such as public green spaces, street and square design, open spaces in residential and housing development, and open areas of industry and commerce, in all service phases under HOAI. Particular importance is attached to plants as a design element; planting designs follow the "principle of aspect-forming species" based on the maxim "unity in the large, diversity in the small". The practice works interdisciplinary with architects, urban planners and specialist consultants and accompanies projects from schematic design through tendering and award to construction supervision. Clients include, among others, the City of Munich, BMW AG, Robert Bosch GmbH, GWG and GEWOFAG; well-known projects include the Riem Landscape Park, the Maßmann Park and BauZEIT Riem.
