About LZS – Leichtbau-Zentrum Sachsen
LZS – Leichtbau-Zentrum Sachsen GmbH, based in Dresden, is a development partner specialized in function-integrated system lightweight construction in multi-material design. Its interdisciplinary team of engineers and technicians works across materials and products and covers the entire development chain: from feasibility analysis through material- and process-appropriate design, material characterization as well as structural and process simulation, to prototype production, manufacturing and component testing. The service portfolio also includes adapted joining techniques, smart materials, adaptronic structures, and the integration of sensors and actuators. The industry focus areas are aerospace, automotive and vehicle construction, rail vehicle engineering, and mechanical and plant engineering, including gas turbines. Customers include, among others, Kupplungswerke Dresden AG (KWD), for whom LZS developed a novel insulating coupling for drive systems. Product development is accompanied by certified quality management.
