About Mabuchi Motor
Mabuchi Motor was founded in 1954 and is a globally active manufacturer of small electric motors with a worldwide production of around 1.3 billion motors per year. The product portfolio comprises brushed DC motors as well as brushless DC motors, including high-power and high-resolution brushless motors with Hall or resolver sensors, geared and wheel hub motors, and hollow-shaft frameless motors. The motors are used, among other things, in the automotive industry (approx. 74.7% of sales), for light electric vehicles such as AGVs and AMRs, in precision and office equipment, household appliances, power tools, medical technology and industrial automation. Production of small motors and parts takes place, among other places, in Wafangdian, China; there are 17 production sites and 4 R&D sites worldwide. The European office Mabuchi Motor (Europe) GmbH, founded in 1993 in Frankfurt am Main with 51–200 employees, handles product development, sales, quality assurance and logistics for the European market. The parent company is prime listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In 2021 the group acquired the Swiss company Electromag SA, which specializes in brushless DC motors for medical applications.
