MACHTS Handwerks GmbH is a family business founded in 1995 in Jena with more than 20 employees. The company manufactures and installs custom staircases in various designs: bolted staircases, string staircases, HPL flat-stringer staircases and folded-plate staircases, with treads made of hardwoods such as beech, ash, oak and maple and railings in stainless steel, wood or glass. Surfaces are painted, sealed with clear varnish or treated with design oil. In addition to staircase construction, the portfolio includes front doors, side entrance doors, interior doors as well as commercial and fire protection doors made of wood, aluminium and plastic systems; the manufacturers hold approvals for safety-critical construction products, whose production is monitored by an independent, notified testing institute. Staircase installation is carried out by the company's own skilled staff, complemented by repair and service offerings as well as consulting and planning of escape and fire protection systems. The main delivery area is the Erfurt-Jena-Gera region; the company is headquartered at Brüsseler Straße 8 in Jena.
