About Magirus
Magirus is a fire protection technology company with a tradition spanning more than 160 years, founded in 1864 in Ulm by Conrad Dietrich Magirus. The company manufactures turntable ladders (working heights from 27 to 68 m), fire fighting vehicles of all classes, rescue and logistics vehicles, aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicles, special vehicles and mobile antenna mast systems for the defense sector. The portfolio is complemented by equipment such as the Poseidon series submersible pumps, the ProtectUs P1 fire helmet made of thermoplastic high-temperature material, the M-Eye UAV, and digital systems for mission and fleet management (FleetConnect). Vehicle superstructures are produced using the AluFire 3 system made of anodized aluminum profiles; ladder sets are made from welded steel. At the fire protection competence center in Ulm, covering more than 300,000 m², product development, manufacturing, sales, purchasing and customer service are bundled; testing takes place on the company's own test track. Further manufacturing and service sites are located in Brescia (Italy), Chambéry (France) and Premstätten (Austria); since 2025 also in Schongau (Switzerland). Magirus employs more than 1,500 people and is active in 150 countries.
