About us
The wire weaving workshop was opened as a shop in Körnerstraße in Cologne-Ehrenfeld in August 2013 and is run as a sole proprietorship by owner Stefanie Halbauer. The company manufactures household goods and jewelry from metal wire using artisanal wire weaving techniques and creates custom-made items according to customer requests. The craft of wire weaving – a trade with an old tradition, practiced by traveling artisans until the Industrial Revolution – is intended to be passed down to subsequent generations. The location in Cologne-Ehrenfeld was closed on January 31, 2022; since August 23, 2022, the operation has been run under the name Maison fil de fer in the shop in Dabo-Schaeferhof in the French Department of Moselle. Orders are accepted exclusively in the shop; there is deliberately no online shop.
