About MAJOR
MAJOR (Major Wire Industries Limited) is a Canadian company founded in 1884 and a manufacturer of high-performance screening media, in particular the FLEX-MAT product line with high-vibration wire screens in tensioned and modular versions as well as woven wire screens. The portfolio includes tensioned screens, modular polyurethane panels, power wire screens, thermal screens for extreme heat, woven media cuts and rolls, and accessories such as tension edge seals, side seals and screen deck adapters. Manufacturing covers in-house wire production (hard drawing, oil-tempered and patented process with heating, controlled cooling and drawing), wire weaving, the processing of polyurethane strips and assembly of the screening media. Materials are OptimumWire, OptimumWire Plus, stainless steel type 304 and 316, spring steel, galvanized steel and polyurethane. Customers come from the aggregates industry, mining, recycling, energy and fertilizer sectors as well as cement/lime. MAJOR has been a 100% subsidiary of Haver & Boecker OHG (Oelde, Germany) since 2015 and operates sites in Canada (Candiac as headquarters, St Catharines), the USA (Schertz, Texas; Fife, Washington) and Belgium (Herve). Via a worldwide network of certified distributors, screening performance analyses, technical support and maintenance seminars are offered.

Materials & Processes
OptimumWire®
In-house high-performance wire with optimized strength, tensile strength and ductility for high-vibration screening media.
OptimumWire Plus
Further-developed wire with up to twice the service life compared with conventional screening wire, for abrasive material such as granite and basalt.
Stainless steel wire type 304
Stainless steel wire with the highest tensile strength for FLEX-MAT power wire screens and woven screens.
Stainless steel wire type 316
More corrosion-resistant stainless steel wire for demanding screening applications.
Spring steel
Material for woven media cuts and woven media rolls with high robustness.
Galvanized steel
Galvanized wire for woven media cuts and rolls.
Polyurethane (PU)
Bonding and support of the wires in high-vibration screens; advanced PU compound chemically more stable under corrosive, alkaline and humid conditions.
Oil-tempered wire process
Drawing followed by heating and quenching in oil to improve the molecular structure.
Patented wire manufacturing process
Heating, controlled cooling and drawing to optimize the molecular structure of the wire.
