Makersan is a vertically integrated mechatronics manufacturer founded in 1978 and headquartered in Gebze (Kocaeli, Turkey). The company develops and manufactures robust electronics and control systems for mobile and stationary machinery: sealed controllers, HMI displays, Hall-effect pedals and levers, joysticks, keypads, sensors, connectivity and telematics hardware as well as application-specific control units – including in-house embedded software and IoT platforms for CAN-based machine architectures. From a small workshop producing metal parts for local OEMs, the company evolved from 2009 onwards, with its first electronic pedal, into a system partner for construction machinery, agricultural equipment, material handling, buses, special-purpose vehicles, marine applications, port equipment and industrial automation. Products are qualified for IP67/IP6K9K, operating temperatures from −40 °C to +85 °C, and CAN/CANopen, SAE J1939 and LIN. Production, development and testing (including EMC, X-ray and climate tests) take place on the integrated campus in Gebze; subsidiaries are located in Offenbach am Main (Germany) and Pune (India). The majority of revenue is generated through exports; products are in use in 34 countries.

Makersan operates according to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 with inspection gates from incoming inspection (IQC) through process inspection (IPQC) to final inspection. The testing environment includes optical multi-sensor metrology (OGP SmartScope MVP 250), X-ray inspection (Hawkeye 2000), functional and electrical tests, environmental and lifetime testing (ESPEC TSE-12) as well as an in-house EMC test station for emission and immunity, including pre-compliance.
