About Malzfabrik Rheinpfalz
Malzfabrik Rheinpfalz GmbH is a long-established malthouse in Pfungstadt (Hesse) and produces around 30,000 tonnes of brewing malt per year. The product range comprises Munich malt, Vienna malt and specialty malts for the brewing and food industry as well as QS-certified single feedstuffs for the feed industry. The raw material basis is domestic brewing barley from the adjacent growing regions between the Tauber region, Kraichgau, Rheinhessen, Hunsrück, Taunus and Vogelsberg; close cooperation with agricultural producers, grain collectors and cooperatives ensures origin and traceability. The soft water comes from two company-owned wells, whose quality is regularly documented by a state-recognized laboratory. The facilities have been modernized with a heat recovery system (reducing gas consumption by more than 20%), a water recovery system (reducing water consumption by 50%) and a new steeping house with reduced electricity and water consumption. The company is certified according to ISO 9001:2015 as well as the QS standard of the feed industry and participates in the monitoring programs of the German Maltsters' Association (Deutscher Mälzerbund).
