About MANA.energy
MANA.energy develops and produces battery materials and battery cells based on silicon and sulfur electrodes with microporous polymer encapsulation. The portfolio includes custom ink formulations for battery manufacturers and suppliers, stand-alone electrodes, and fully assembled batteries for niche applications such as wearable electronics, IoT devices and smart labels. The company supports projects from formulation through cell assembly to electrochemical validation, from coin-cell format to pouch-cell demonstrators, and additionally offers contract R&D. According to the company, the active materials used are earth-abundant elements such as silicon, sulfur, carbon and nitrogen; rare, toxic metals are avoided. The battery design is intended to simplify recycling and enable lithium recovery of up to 90 %; CO2-neutral production is targeted for 2027. The technology is validated by patents (PCT) as well as EU and German funding scholarships.
