About the Association

Marktplatz Küssnacht is an association founded in 1997 and based in Küssnacht am Rigi (Canton of Schwyz), with more than 120 independent businesses and shops from the Küssnacht district as members. The purpose of the association is to strengthen the attractiveness of the business location and of the town for shopping, dining, services and spending time. The association operates a business directory with around 129 member companies, an online shop with products and offers from the region, and a voucher system whose proceeds partly benefit the fund «Küssnachter helfen Küssnachter» (Küssnacht residents helping Küssnacht residents). It organizes markets and events such as the August Määrt and the Open Sunday, rents out market stalls, and offers a job and apprenticeship exchange. As a community, the member companies rank among the largest employers and training providers in the region. The association is politically neutral and is responsible, among other things, each year in cooperation with the rescue service and the Samaritan association for first aid training.
