About Martel Weinwelt

Martel AG St.Gallen is a Swiss wine merchant founded in 1876, headquartered in St.Gallen and one of the oldest wine merchants in Switzerland. The family business is run in its fifth generation by Jan Martel and employs more than 50 staff, including wine academicians and sommeliers. The range comprises around 3'000 wines from classic European regions such as Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhône and Champagne as well as from Switzerland and overseas. Martel offers wine sales and consulting in its St.Gallen (Poststrasse 11) and Zurich (Bellevue) branches as well as through its online shop; as early as 1995 the company was present with one of Europe's first online wine shops. In addition to trading, the wine merchant offers services such as wine consulting, wine valuations, wine courses, tastings and the Tour des Vins. In 2025, Martel became the first Swiss wine merchant to be certified under the Fair and Green sustainability standard.
